It takes a lot of people to update and maintain the Crawlspace. Here are some brief bios of the staff. Take a look at the people that share their Spidey love!

Brad Douglas
Brad created the Crawlspace back in 1998 while attending college at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He’s the webmaster and writes front page news items, and also produces, hosts and edits the podcast. He’s been collecting Spider-Man comics since the age of three and is a life-long fan of the webhead. His website has been featured in USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and on Marvel.com and inside the comics themselves. The Crawlspace is one of the first Spider-Man fan sites to ever hit the internet and millions of people visit the site every year. Brad has interviewed several “Spider-Celebrities” over the years including co-creator Stan Lee. He’s also interviewed actors who have portrayed Spider-Man like Paul Soles (Voice Actor from the 67 Spider-Man Cartoon), Dan Gilvezan (Spidey Voice Actor from Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends) ,Yuri Lownthal (Voice Actor from the Spider-Man PlayStation game) and Nicholas Hammond (Spider-Man 1977 Actor). J.R. Fettinger
He is often called the Spider-Yoda of the site. He joined the Podcast as a guest on Episode 3, and became a regular on Episode 4. He is well versed in over 50 years of Spider-history. That comes in handy when he is a panelist on the Crawlspace podcast. Speaking of which, JR stars in CS podcast “Spider-History” which you can download and follow along. He also thinks Norman Osborn is one of the best villains of all time.

George Berryman
Native Texan George Berryman knows that what makes Spider-Man amazing is that he is his own man, does what is right, and doesn’t need to be on a superhero team. In his 10+ years with the site George has written reviews and editorial commentary on the direction of the Spider-Man in comics and other media. In addition, he has appeared as a podcast regular and also created the Fight Club on the Crawlspace forums, which has since evolved into the CS podcast “Friday Night Fights.” When not providing “edutainment” on Spider-Jeopardy, George can be found on the Crawlspace Discord, where he serves as Admin. George has been a Spider-Man fan since 1975, and also loves Elvis, Bacon, Whataburger, and Dr Pepper.
Ashley Stapleton
In 2014, her husband actually introduced her to the site. She had just started keeping up with the comics in earnest, so she thought, why not? So, she shot Brad an email. The team interviewed her not long after, and they just clicked! The rest is history. As a Black Cat enthusiast Ashley, brings an insightful and intelligent voice to the podcast. “Spidey is my boy.” and her contributions to this site and this community have proven that over and over.
Writing under the name “Stillanerd,” Mike has been a frequent commentator on the Crawlspace Message Boards since 2008, and was the former reviewer for Amazing Spider-Man and Superior Spider-Man. He is also serves as an administrator for the message boards. As an English Major with a long-standing love for comic books, Mike is infamous for his in-depth analysis and theories with regards to current story-lines, although he admits his predictions are not always exact.

Kelly “KayDay” McDaniel
Is a lifelong comic fan and comic book historian. It started with her first comic on her pull list being Spider-Girl as a child. Long-time listener of the crawlspace, Kelly likes to research, read and learn anything she can about the ever-growing Spider-Verse media and loves to talk with Spider-fans new and old. Cosplaying since 2010, she helps build a comradery with other costumers in the Southeast. She spends most of her free time working on costumes or helping share her love of comics with her nephew. Kelly is the embodiment of who May “MayDay” Parker (Spider-Girl) is. After being interviewed by Chi-Town Spidey, she became a full fledged member of the Crawlspace and a regular panelist on our Podcast.

“The” Chi-Town Spidey Pictured here with his ever-loving wife, this Crime-fighting cosplayer (well, used to be) has a PASSION for Spider-Man’s true character and the supporting cast (favorite being Mary Jane). Peter grew up on the south side of Chicago and Spider-Man has always been his hero and moral compass in life. He is currently writing reviews on “The Chi-Town Breakdown”, a few editorials, and the ever-loving feature Spider-Man: Cosplay on the Crawlspace. Mark is a high school English and mythology teacher in North Carolina. He’s loved Spider-Man ever since his Electric Company days. When he’s not teaching kids where to put a semicolon or whining to Chi-Town about not being in the letter’s section (he actually got one letter published!) on the ASM title, he’s spending time with his wife and three kids. Currently he writes the Cobwebs column on the Crawlspace and the ever so popular “Alford Notes” which covers The Amazing Spider-Man title.

Neil Bogenrieder
Growing up with Mayday Parker (Aka Spider-Girl) Neil Bogenrieder has a healthy appreciation of the JMS era of Spider-Man, and is an avid Spider-Man fan and lover of obscure villains. When he isn’t going to college to earn a degree, drawing, on our Discord talking, you can find Neil reviewing Amazing Spider-Man on “The Bogenrieder Prospective” or writing the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man webcomic. Neil has appeared on multiple CS podcasts including the “Spider-Satellites”.
Tyler Gourley
Tyler is our symbiote expert. You can say that he and the various symbiote books that he reads have a special “BOND” with him. You can find him screaming about SCREAM, Carnage, Riot, and VENOM over there on our Discord page! He also joins Neil and Brad on “Spider-Satellites. Tyler is pretty good on keeping you informed about any news or theories on our Discord page, so I would check that out if I were you.
Javi Trujillo
Is a life long fan of Spidey, ever since his dad sat him down with a copy of Marvel Tales #142, a reprint of the instant classic ASM (vol. 1) #5! As such, he grew with Spidey from the beginning of his story! Now he has two kids of his own, whom he happily shares the Spider-Verse with! From writing reviews, pitching in on podcasts, and posting on Instagram, Javi is always hanging out somewhere on the Crawlspace!
Sara Pezel
Sara has been a fan of Spider-Man since the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie. Shortly after, she got her first comic book and has been collecting Spider-Man ever since. Some of what she loves about Spider-Man is his never give up attitude and his willingness to help others.
A long time listener to the podcast, she first appeared on the Crawlspace spotlighting her vast Spider-Man collection, showing comic books, action figures, and other collectables. Her favorite Spider-Man character is Spider-Punk and that is also her favorite character to cosplay. When not on the show she plays ice hockey, plays the violin, and plays with her two cats.
Of course, there is the support roles that often go unnoticed.
Wendi Douglas
She’s is the understanding and enabling wife of webmaster Brad Douglas. She helps Brad with shooting pictures at conventions. She’s also the photographer who records interviews for podcasts and video reports. Wendi often gets cold at conventions and bundles up in a very stylish Spider-hoodie. She’s affectionately known as “Mrs. Crawlspace.”

Eddie deAngelini is a long time comic book fan and collector. He is the writer and artist of the internet comic strip Collectors, which is loosely based on his own life, marriage and comic collecting obsession. His love of comics began at a young age and his claim to fame is owning every issue of Amazing Spider-Man. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Kristen, where they plan together for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
Ryan Read
Ryan is a high school Business & Technology teacher in Illinois. He has loved Spider-Man ever since he was 2 years old when his grandfather read him a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #13 (first appearance of Mysterio). When he is not teaching he spends time with his wife and son, doing family outings and construction projects. Recently the reviewer for Champions, Ryan will soon be back to vidcast reviewing Amazing Spider-Man, Renew Your Vows and “Looking Back” at classic runs during his reading days of Spider-Man.
Thomas Mets
Mister Mets is a middle school English teacher in New York City. He is also one of the moderators of the Spider-Man forum at Comic Book Resources. He grew up near Forest Hills Queens, and has been a fan of Spider-Man since coming across the character in the comic strip. He also writes a monthly column on the Crawlspace called Tangled Webs.
Mohammed is man of few words, only saying what he needs to. but bring up Technology, Legend of Korra and especially Spider-Man or even Mary Jane, and he won’t shut up, no matter how hard you try. So much so that sometimes you wish you had a web shooter handy, so that you can web up his mouth. and although he’d never admit it, we believe he secretly considers Mary Jane to be above Spider-Man, I mean you should see his Mary Jane collection, and that of Black Cat. Mohammed currently posts our weekly previews and keeps us up to date on what’s going on at the main Comic Conventions.
Adam has been a Spider-Man fan since he was a young lad (20ish years… Geez, has it been that long?). He has a passion for Spidey History, citing his sources, and making sure creators get the credit they deserve. You can find his Panel of the Day column daily (naturally) on the front page.
Bill became a life-long Spider-Man fan thanks to his uncle, a long time Marvel reader, and the 90’s “Spider-Man: The Animated Series” cartoon on Fox Kids. Bill has read years upon years worth of Spider-Man stories, from the Ditko era, the Roger Stern runs (both Spectacular and Amazing), and even the Clone Saga, and many, many more. Bill is also a life-long action figure collector, his favorite toy-line being the Marvel Legends toy line first produced by ToyBiz, and later by Hasbro; he even customizes his own figures in his free time. Bill is also an avid Marvel Cinematic Universe fan. Bill currently writes the Spider-Tracer monthly history feature as well as action figure reviews.
A native Brazilian who lives in Germany. After undergoing a shamanic ritual at the turn of the century, he discovered the Spider as his power animal. Since then, he understood why he learned how to read with Spider-Man comics at the age of three and started collecting them and learned English at the age of eight; why his comic book collection now reaches nearly 7.000 issues; why he became a professional freelance photographer/cameraman and a teacher of English with a great passion for literature, writing, languages and cultures; why he’s a Beatles fan and a Rock bassist; why he traveled the world; why he studied journalism, mythology, philosophy, cinema and is now chasing a Masters degree in media; why he is also a Scorpio – no surprise there, either. His emotional connection to the character and collecting has been strengthened by many cool interactions with comic creators, other collectors, and a family who supports his hobby. Based in the UK, Adam has been collecting US comics since 1997, starting with the post Clone Saga Spider-Man. Those comics and the 90’s cartoon started a life long interest in the Web-Head. Adam was overjoyed in 2010 when he got to meet John Romita Jr. and had him sign (among other comics) Peter Parker: Spider-Man #84, the first issue he ever bought. It seems interest in Spider-Man is hereditary as he now watches Marvel Superhero Adventures with his son.

I’m a huge fan of Spider-Man and always will be. I first started reading the character at age nine and have been hooked ever since. My favorite Spidey story is “The Night Gwen Stacy Died” and my least favorite is “One Moment in Time” (debatable perhaps). I think Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin is his greatest villain and Mary Jane Watson is his greatest love interest (not debatable as far as I’m concerned).
