  1. Enjoyed the round table discussion on this one. I’m very interested in George and JR’s take on it though.

I’m thinking it’s a short term change to Ben in time for either 900 or SM:NWH. I don’t think they’ll kill Peter, but will have him be incapacitated so Ben needs to step up to fill the gap. Peter will focus on recovery and (re)building his relationship with MJ after Doctor Strange reveals what’s wrong with Peter’s soul.

I agree with the thought that this won’t be so hated a change as it was in the 90’s since they won’t be putting Ben front and centre as the “one true Spider-Man” and the “real” Peter. If they don’t force it down our throats Ben should be easier to accept, especially if we know Peter will return at some point.

Still not sold on Wells. I dislike most of the stuff from the no-brain trust. I am interested to see what Thompson and Ahmed bring to the table though (and I hope Ahmed builds a relationship between Ben and Miles and it doesn’t just get neglected. With Ahmed in the mix I think a built relationship is more likely.

Be interesting to see where this goes, and on the plus side, it’s not Slott.

  2. About to plug into the podcast as I mow the lawn. I’m just going to say that after all the momentum of the Spencer run, I’m disappointed that we’re going to a change in the status quo. Not much interest for me in a second go around of a Ben Reilly Spider-man.
