In celebration of 100 Panel of the Day entries, I thought I’d post this monster of a two-page spread:
That’s a lot of villains!

It’s always such a treat to see so many Spidey rogues! I guess my only complaint is that I’d have preferred for a few more classic villains to be there over Shathra, Morlun, or Digger (especially since Digger was a one-off, and this was before Shathra or Morlun had made return appearances), but it was Straczynski’s run, I can’t really blame him for wanting his villains to be mixed in.
As a whole, I’d say this issue was pretty good, it’s definitely better than the milestone issues that followed (fingers crossed that #800 will be decent) even if I don’t think it quite lives up to the high quality of #200, #300, or #400. I kind of wish it’d focused more on the stuff about Spidey’s genesis and future instead of dismissing it so early on, there was a lot of potential with both, and they’d have been a great thing to explore in such a landmark. The villain marathon isn’t a bad way to celebrate, though.
I like that this included the Ringmaster and the 60s Beetle.
