Seconded, Brad… the reason Venom didn’t work had nothing to do with him. They just did it wrong… Venom could carry a whole movie, he didn’t need to be a subplot.
I liked Venom in Spidey 3, the only problem I had was Sandman. I know he was intended to be in the 3rd film from early stages but damn did he feel forced in…
Why not have a movie on Jonah Jameson? I don’t think a Venom movie would be so great. I did not like venom in Spider-man 3. Especially his voice!
No matter what, Superman was destined to fail as they spent too much on the various attempts at production. I agree with BD that Topher Grace should be brought back. He didn’t have much time in Spidey 3, but I thought he was great. Sure he looks more Ultimate than 616, but I love when he is in the church asking God to kill Peter Parker!
They did do something with Superman though…and by Hollywood standards, failed absolutely miserably
Why do we need a Venom movie. He couldn’t even sustain his own comic. It makes about as much sense as the Jonah Hex movie coming out from DC but them not doing anything with Superman.
I really think they should get Topher back. I think recasting will just screw it up.
The Venom movie should totally just be Spidey 3 from Eddie’s point of view, complete with him stalking Gwen in every other scene.
“We had coffee, Eddie…” Seriously, people wanna rip the Jazz Club scene, but Eddie following Gwen and Peter before it raises more questions than that IMO.
Maybe he went to the Edward Cullen School of Dating…
