I only know two people who wear red suits – Santa Claus and (sometimes) Don Cherry.
If Spider-Man did not have a loyal fan base this book would be dead.
To be fair Slott has written epics….EPIC FAILURES.
Slott’s writing reminds me of a toddler with a puzzle, shove the piece in no matter what to get the picture.
To be fair he has some interesting big picture ideas, but they fail on getting their naturally and the ending always disappointing.

I liked spider island only for the ending, superior spiderman was just plain weird and rather sad, but i think spider verse would be better named sputter verse. but in my little mind nothing could ever beat the ridiculous clone saga – except when spiderman was basically swinging around 90% suicidal because his parents were robots.

Jim Cheung draws a great Spider-Man and it’s a real shame that he has to work on a Slott story.
Why are they trying to hide the identity of the Man in Red? It’s the Jackal. We can see that by the Jackal headed mask and him hanging out with GwEvil.

@#1: You say that but Slott’s very first Spider-man story was a back up from Venom Super Special 1995 where he gave us an untold tale from when Spidey had the alien costume. The costume hijacked his body whilst he slept and made advances on Jean DeWolff who promptly rebuffed him claiming she only loved him as a brother. So he’s already fucked her over

Oh yay. A version of what most regard as the most reviled or second most reviled Spider-Man story ever, by one of the weakest writers to work on the title. My enthusiasm knows no bounnn…sorry, I dozed off there for a minute.

Spidey loved Ock? Who knew!
I like Chung too, however I’m not a fan of the preview art at all.
I guess the big news takeaway from that is Jim Cheung being announced as artist. Fair enough, he’s very good. Hope he gets enough lead time to do the whole storyline.
It feels like Dan Slott wants to have written in every Spider-Man era (which is the only reason I can think of for the Learning To Crawl mini-series to exist). To do this, he’s bringing dead characters from various eras back to life to tell the readers “This is what a Captain Stacey written by Dan Slott would have been like”, “Ever wonder how I would have written Lance Bannon? Now you know!”
