Amazing Spider-Man issue 25. Let’s forget about the fact that if Liz and Betty shaved their heads we wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. First Mary Jane from the neck down. Too bad that flower is devouring her face.
In this opening splash page drawn by John Romita and inked by Don Heck, Peter mulls over the fact that Capt. Stacy has been hypnotized into commiting crimes by the mastermind known as the Brainwasher, […]
I’m a big fan of the early issues of “Marvel Knights: Spider-Man”, but this was one of the odd moments of that arc. In issue 8, Peter tricks Jonah into believing his son John is […]
In the past I’ve tried to avoid some Peter/MJ heavy selections for “Spidey Memories” so we’d avoid a “marriage flame war”. With all the OMIT talk I figured it’s time to give the people what […]
I love this story, it is by far one of my absolute favorite issues ever of any comic book series, the fierce rivalry between Liz & Betty is always good for a few laughs, especially since they’re on the crush for “Puny Parker”
How come such a great memory isn’t a hot subject like the “Disney/Marvel” merge?
I wonder how Steve would have drawn MJ had he not left the book. Then again why question what might have been, right? Romita designed a knockout that we’ve all come to know and love.
Remembering that whole “keep what MJ looks like a secret” thing, it looks like that’s (in a way) what they failed to do with Jackpot… anybody know what I mean? (haha, I hope so.)
This is the issue that set Spidey apart from the Archie contrasts. Betty wised up and went for Ned, and Liz…she sort of began to lose relevancy right up until she fell for Harry.
Oh original continuity, how I miss you.
I don’t think they were drawn exactly alike. Betty had a slightly more round face, and their noses are different.
You missed the funnier page which preceded it, which had them awkwardly walking up to the door and scowling at each other. THAT was some funny stuff. 🙂
