Liefeld predicts Amazing Spider-Man in Avengers 3

imageComic artist and Image Co-Founder, Rob Liefeld has taken to Twitter to speculate on the future of a number of movie franchises in light of Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past’s performance at the Box Office.

Comicbook.com has reposted a collections of his Tweets, in which he speculates:

“Sony will split producing/financing w/Marvel on next Spidey film and open door for inclusion in Avengers 3”.

While this is certainly not set in stone, and should be taken with a pitch of salt, it is nice to see that people within the comic industry like to speculate as much as we do.

  1. Quicksilver got to appear in Sony’s “Days of Future Past” movie because he’s Magneto’s son, but he’ll show up in “Age of Ultron” because he was also an Avenger. I wouldn’t be surprised if some Disney executive investigated a loophole like that so they could feature Spidey in an Avengers movie. “Well, he’s in the Avengers, right?”

I really don’t think it’s gonna happen, but it’s fun to speculate.

  2. Isn’t it called Amazing Houston Comic Con? At least the site is,lol! Are you going? Wish I was still in the US by then,I would go if I was.

This news though?! Yeah, whatever. I like Spidey, don’t care where he pops up. lol!

    J-R!

  3. Liefeld’s actually coming to my hometown of Houston for Amazing Comic Convention 2014. Yes, that’s what it’s called.

  4. Is Liefeld even involved with Marvel anymore? I thought he left them years ago. Not buying this at all, mainly because….well….. it’s Rob Liefeld.

  5. I imagine Liefeld knows about as much about what’s going on with Sony and Marvel as he does about “drawing good.”

  6. If there was a chance in hell of this to happen, Sony and Marvel would be collaborating right now.

  7. The fact that everybody has been demanding Spidey be in Avengers: Age of Ultron and these guys are predicting Spidey’s appearance in the Avengers 3, it’s pretty clear that since they were too far into production to include Spidey, and that they’re going this far to please the fans of the fandom, especially those with the Spidey+Avengers crossover fanfics. Make mine Marvel!
