The first Betty Brant, called only Miss Brant, in "Amazing Spider-Man" issue 4. The next issue she would recieve a first name and age downgrade.
More from Brevoort’s countdown. I remember covering this one recently on “Amazing Spider-Man Classics”.
Felicia Hardy, ignore the costume…ignore the costume, beats up Sabertooth. Yeah that’s right, that happened.
From "Spectacular Spider-Man" 199. Harry has just been released from the Vault. It’s amazing how much emotion Sal Buscema put into each person’s face. From Liz’s denial, Harry’s evil smugness, Mary Jane’s anger and Normie being…Normie.
Actually, according to Stan himself, Betty is younger than Pete….the whole “older” thing is a common myth that I’ve seen some seasoned Spidey writers even fall into. She’s working there because the family had money problems due to her brothers gambling debts and mothers hospital bills.
Was it ever explained how much older Betty is than Pete, and why she is working there and not in school? I’m sure I read this at one point but don’t recall.
That is true, but given the timeline we have for that and other established sources, we can say for sure that it is Betty we are seeing in this issue.
Didn’t UTOS explain that Betty’s mom worked as JJJ’s secretary before Betty herself took over?
Oops. Did I say “she”? I meant he. Sorry Steve.
Tell me about the age downgrade. In this panel, it looks like she drew Bette like she was in her late forties.
