Earlier today I posted the news that according to both Previews and Comixology, Superior Foes of Spider-Man will see its end in August instead of July as reported a few months ago. Issue #12 is schedule to ship the second week of June reportedly, which will kick off the final story arc for the series. Superior Foes of Spider-Man is set to end with issue #15 of the series that will now ship in late August 2014. However, not long after we received some new news

Well, I’ve got some good news here, Ryan: here’s a tweet from Superior Foes of Spider-Man artist and co-creator, Steve Lieber:

“We’re not cancelled. My editor just asked for covers for issues 16 and 17.”

Well I checked out Stillanerd news and found out that the new schedule for the book is to reach the conclusion to the current story line with the Superior Foes but there will be an announcement this weekend at C2E2, which I will be attending on the future of the title continuing. This is great news that the Foes will still be going and I will update with the announcements from the Spider-Man Panel at C2E2 this weekend, LIVE!

  1. @- I feel the same way. I’ve got Slott (and to a degree Ramos) fatigue, I got bored of his storytelling after the 2099 arc in Superior. We’ve seen all of his tricks and gimmicks now, it’s time for someone new. I never thought I’d actually see the day where the satellite titles were higher on my pull list than ASM, but my anticipation for Superior Foes, 2099 and MM:USM is just much higher.

  2. @4 – This is great news.

@5 – Me too. And I haven’t been reading since ASM #700 so I should be REALLY excited by Amazing returning. Hate to be a broken record, but if there was a new writer then I might be more excited (and I would say this whether the current writer was Slott or not) – this should be the start of a new chapter after Superior with a new writer and new stories, but with the same writer as before/during Superior, it just feels like we’ll have more of the same.

  3. @4 – I’m more excited about Superior Foes continuing than AMS returning. Wonder if it’ll get a name change though.

  4. Agree, such a great book, I’m glad I started reading it a few months ago but sad that it’s ending. This is one book I would definitely not mind if they rebooted or renumbered it.
