It’s going to cost several thousand dollars to collect every variant of Amazing Spider-Man #700. Here’s how it breaks down.
Regular cover is $7.99
Steve Ditko Variant- You’ll need to order 200 copies of it for the variant. $7.99 x 200= $1598.00
Anniversary Collage Variant- You’ll need to order 50 copies for the variant. $7.99 x 50= $399.50
Marcos Martin Variant- You’ll need to order 50 copies for the variant. $ 7.99x 50= $399.50
Humberto Ramos Variant- You’ll need to order 50 copies for the variant. $7.99 x 50= $399.50
Joe Quesada Variant- You’ll need to order 700 copies for the variant. $7.99 x 700= $5593.00
So if you wanted to get every cover the grand total would be $8397.49. Our sponsor Mail Order Comics.com has the book for 50% off the cover, so that would be $4189.50. That is a lot of change to be a completest Is anyone going to order this many books?
I visited multiple sites but the audio quality for audio songs current at this web site is truly marvelous.
Have a look at my blog post – ger Widgets (Kerstin)
I agree with Webhead. Personally, If I were to decide to spend $8,400 on Spider-Man that month it would be for another Nice copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1.
I’m out of collecting all the variants, since I won’t even be able to come close to getting them all. DCBSERVICE.com has the Quesada variant for $350 for pre order and the Ditko cover for $200. That’s insane. I’m done with trying to be a completist and will concentrate on buying the older issues to finish my collection.
Hey BD, I’m sure that Travis can and would be wise and either open his own comic shop near wear he lives with a mass “Free Be give away of Amazing # 700, or he can take them for trading at his next big Comic con he would be attending! But still I highly agree with you that much of sales to the average is way to steep for what ONE comic retail store is willing to go bust on a book that will not even sell, So here is what I think Marvel should be willing to do if they want to selling their top character book like that is have “EVERYONE” and I mean “EVERYONE” who gets a copy of this very issue get to RUN the company or at least have their take on ol Spidey be told and “THEY HAVE TO DO IT REGARDLESS OF WHAT PERIOD!” that is if the company also doesn’t wanna go belly up……?
Travis, how much are you going to spend? What will you do with all the extra copies?
I’m getting them all but the Quesada variant. Can’t justify that one, too far out of my reach
Who wants a Quesada variant?! I mean, I stumbled upon my copy of “Daredevil: Father” and the
way he portrays DD is……well…..you’d have to see it (again) for yourself. Not my cuppa tea.
No, to get the below it would cost $3,090.00
700 Standard Mr Garcin Collage Covers
14 Marcos Martin 50th Anniversary Covers
14 Humberto Ramos Wraparound Covers
14 Olivier Coipel Covers
14 Marcos Martin Covers
3 Steve Ditko Covers
1 Joe Quesada Cover
I’m curious, if I bought 700 copies of the regular cover, then wouldn’t I get:
1 Quesada variant
14 Ramos variants
14 Coipel variants
14 collage variants
2 Ditko variants
Then it should cost $5,593.00 to get them all.
To have a last issue of ASM and not offer a John Romita or JRJR cover? WTF.
Oh, and….MORE inflated sales figures!!
No way in hell…
My mum used to say, “more money than brains”. Perfect example right here.
Most of you know I’ll be buying the Couldn’t-Give-a-Crap variant, can’t beat the price! 🙂
I’m going with what mail order is offering online. So comic shops and regular joes can order than many copies if they want. But who does that?!?
BD, are you sure this is not the number the comic store has to order?
I have no idea what the regular cover looks like. I thought it was the montage.
I thought the Ramos cover was the regular edition, but it’s now a variant? What does the regular cover look like?
