Erik Larsen best known for his Amazing run in the 1990s has posted two Ditko cover recreations. I think he did a great job. Colorist Gary Tunbill colored them. What do you think? Are you a Larsen fan?

Very cool. Probably blasphemy to most, but I never liked how Ditko drew Spidey. Larsen’s changes are minor but make such a big difference.
Romita’s artwork will always be the definitive Spidey for me.
Love it. Huge Larsen fan. Where Spidey writers dissapoint- Savage Dragon never does. These are great to look at and I bet he had nuthin but fun making them.
Covers look really neat
I can’t even tell the different between the real deal and the recreations, so he’s got me there.
Great cover recreates from Erik. He’s a nice guy in person, but I’m not the biggest fan of his artwork. I always thought he made MJ look like Peg Bundy from married with children. But I still enjoyed his work enough to pick it up back in the day.
@tickbite
Does it rank up there with devil deals retcons, and recycling story plots?
@Gerard Delatour II
I’ve seen worse… see John Romita Jr.
I actually LIKE Erik Larsen’s art, so I can’t back you up here.
Those are very, very cool.
Cool, he made the eyes larger and gave Mr Fantastic his grey hair back. That’s a feat. 😉 (Honestly, this is about as unnecessary as Gus Van Sant remaking Psycho.)
So great! I’ve loved Larson’s artwork. He’s the spidey artist I grew up with, these covers just made my day
Love Erik Larsen’s art, even his work on ASM Vol 2, but these just look too “Ditko” to me.
OH HELL NO
These just look wrong. 😐
I loved his work for Marvel!!! Savage Dragon was a fun title for awhile. Would like to get back into it if some trades ever get released so I can get back on.
Neat! They should release a book where different Spidey artists redraw their favorite covers. It would be interesting to see McFarlane redraw AF 15 for example.
