He’s one of the best and most defining Spider-Man artists in the character’s long history and today he turns 81 years old.
He’s also my all time favorite ASM artist, followed closely by his talented son.
Happy Birthday JRsr! 🙂
Native Texan George Berryman has been a Spider-Man fan since 1975 and Crawlspace contributor since 2009. He lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and hopes to one day be as curmudgeonly as J.R. Fettinger.

Happy Birthday John. Spider-man without your touch isn’t Spider-man. The same goes for the whole Marvel Universe.
I Bow Before He /who Draws Like God! A Little Late But…
Happy Birthday, Sir! You are the best Spider-man artist ever.
Happy Birthday Sir from Tehran! you are my all time favorite Spider-man artist too. If not for your drawings I would have not been as crazy about Spider-man as I am now.
Sir, I hope you will live until you are 120 years old.
Happy birthday Romita Sr! 😀
Happy birthday, Jazzy Johnny! What a great time to start talking about his books on ASM Classics. Our next recording will cover issues 39 and 40.
Happy Birthday Mr. Romita Sr! Have an awesome day!
Happy Birthday to the greatest one of all.
Happy Birthday John! Stay jazzy my friend!
I thank you and Steve Ditko for visually creating the world of Spidey! Happy birthday! (Please come back for a story arc or limited series!)
I love this man’s run on ol web head!, For he has always lead the pack to future coming comic artists in grounding their Spidey looking both dramatic and action packed in every way. I think the only thing I can hate him for and it’s “BIG TO,” is his choice in killing a certain blond haired lass named Stacy that Parker loved with his whole heart whilst Stan Lee was on vacation. Happy B-Day John Romita SR, your the best with Spidey any day in my book.
Happy birthday Mr. Romita Sr. You are the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be(now lets hope Bret Hart doesn’t sue me for that catch phrase lol).
The best there ever was
Not just one of the best, THE best. Happy birthday sir.
happy birthday!
Happy Bday to one of the best!
Happy Birthday, Mr. John Romita Sr!
It’s his work that truly helps me envision how Peter and his cast look like. As weird as it sounds, even when I’m viewing other people’s artistic adaptations, I have a terrible habit of envisioning his character designs instead LOL.

Happy B-Day Mr. Legend!!
John Romita is my all-time fave Spidey artist. Hope for his birthday he gets a few more offers to draw ASM covers…
I wish Stan could coax him to ink the spidey strip when Joltin Joe goes on vacation.
