Saw it, and he hit it pretty much right on the head (though I liked more of the music and disagreed with more of the interpretations of the characters)
It was a good review. Pretty balanced. I don’t know what people are complaining about.
The real fun is in the comments, where PAD and some guy are discussing the merits of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
holy crap he was at the same show I was!! I didn’t know what Peter David looked like until you linked this picture but now that I see it he was two rows ahead of me on the mezzanine. He had a big conversation with the assistant director during the intermission too. I think he is exaggerating, everyone enjoyed the play and it got a standing ovation(he stood up too.) Yes the second act has a lot of problems(like a whole song about shoes for no reason) but it was still really fun and the Sinister Six have the best song near the end when they are wrecking the stage! I did hear a lot of people say they didn’t like the greek choir but I think that’s nitpicking, I thought they funny and it was a good way to keep the story moving.
I thought the review sounded pretty good. He felt a lot looked spectacular, but it felt unfinished, but he mentioned more is being put into it for the “real” opening in feb.
I wouldnt of said it was harsh at all, he gave a balanced review of it, and its not like he stayed to long on each negative. Granted dont want to see it never will see it, but its nice that some people enjoyed it to an extent. 😀
Seems fair, but harsh. I had planned to fly to NYC to see this. I am now saying goodbye to those plans.
