ugh im sorry but this only furthers mmy opinion of broadway being gay
@butters911 – It must appeal to someone out there, somewhere. I mean, did the Batman ’60s TV show respect the source material? But that’s considered a classic (which I think it’s more of a “it’s so bad, it’s good” type of thing).
It just seems that noone involved with the show has any respect for the source material whatesoever
Here’s a Yahoo story on the preview night. Front page worthy?:

“It’s a bigger flop than Spider-man 3.”
Oh my god. I don’t know what’s worse, the reviews for this debacle of a musical or the old botoxed lady giving the cheesy narration, complete with puns like “green hornet(???)”. *groan*
@twilitezoner: The show does’t open until January. Last night was a preview show.
I want this to succeed, I really do – but it doesn’t sound good so far. Hopefully opening night will go better, they’ll get the kinks out and make it a well-oiled machine.
This looks incredible. Really fun. I wanna see it.
According to this NY Post review all did not go well opening night. I guess that is an understatement.

Anyone else find it quite interesting that the theme song by U2 sounds quite similar to the their theme for Batman Forever ?
Yeah well, the play really does look pretty awesome. I could understand when the play was just an idea, and even when you just got random news and photos of it. It’s hard to give it a chance when your only seeing such tiny aspects of it and hearing news that only seems to go against what you know and love about the character.
but c’mon. If you really watch this video and it doesn’t psych you up for this you gotta take a step back and straighten yourself out. This thing looks freakin awesome. It’s gonna be performed right in your face, with sets larger than life and battles going on in the air and over your heads. It looks so rad.
Keep in mind, Broadway plays are nothing like the plays and musicals you see at your elementray or high schools. You can see a Broadway play about something you couldn’t care less about and enjoy it. They’re that well done. And for Spider-man to be getting the biggest, most expensive musical ever made is such an awesome thing.
I know I got screwed over by this play when they cancelled my show of it last weekend, but I’m so gonna work on getting my butt back to New York early next year to check it out.
Well, at 3:28, she said she “loves it when people say ‘What a horrible, lousy idea!'”
She must absolutely LOVE our reactions, then!
