@Hornacek
Ugh, gross!
@Aqu@ – “Well, last time I checked, that’s what sex is for.”
Um, there are a *lot* of people who are doing it for other reasons.
And yes, the mechanisms of life are gross.
@Hornacek
Well, last time I checked, that’s what sex is for.
It’s nature, you know. Is it gross? Only if you consider the mechanisms of life gross.
@Aqu@ –
In Old Man Logan, the only reason the evil-Hulk had a sexual relationship with She-Hulk was to create offspring.
I always found radioactive semen hilarious.
It also seems a natural follow-up of radioactive blood (silly in its own way), which caused Aunt May to fall ill after a transfusion.
No reason to censor it, since it was only mentioned, not shown (which would have been a problem only because of regulations on graphic nudity, same as Peter’s private parts).
Relationships between cousins aren’t gross. At most I’d say they’re ill-advised from a genetic stand-point.
Marriage between first or second cousins is actually more common than you’d think.
They’d have a steep hill to climb to top Old Man Logan, where it was revealed that the evil Hulk had kids with She-Hulk (his cousin).
Oh, yeah. I remember that. What a…gross idea. I can’t help but wonder if they’re going to try to top that somehow. I also wonder if we’ll see other spider characters that have been created in the interim, like Cindy Moon or Miles Morales.
I think Reign is remembered for the radioactive semen panel. The kibbles-and-bits panel was removed from the first printing, so if you have a copy with that panel, you got a copy before they reprinted it without it. But the radioactive semen panel was never removed – *that* Marvel had no problem with.
@Evan:
There is 2 different panels. 1 is about Peter’s… Tiny Peter hanging. The other is the radioactive fluid monologues. The Reign miniseries is infamous for both.
@hornacek — That’s the panel I was talking about. What panel were you referring to?
People talk about “that panel” in Reign, but they’re forgetting the panel in issue #1 (?) where you can see Spidey’s kibbles and bits. That made Reign notorious before we got to the reason MJ died.
I think the only reason Reign is considered notorious lies in a single panel. If there is something similar in this sequel series, then we’ll know it was completely intentional and done for notoriety’s sake.
Say what you will about reign, it was at least entertaining. Bad? Yes! But fun in how dumb it was.
Other stories that are more notorious are just… Bad and bland.
It’s like Reignnnnnnnnnn
On your wedding day
I can think of a story that’s more notorious than Reign.
