  1. Now this is completely idiotic. First, if Ben and Johnny didn’t trust Peter then why did they release him from the trap in the first place? Second, they don’t trust Peter just because he was near an explosion. What superhero HASN’T been near an explosion? The argument that Peter might be an impostor is an appeal to possibility- Johnny might not know what that is but Ben definitely should. (“Don’t let Alice babysit your child, she might be a child molester.” “Is there any EVIDENCE that she is?” “No, but it’s POSSIBLE.”)
This is just so badly written. Ben and Johnny have been superheroes for years- this can’t be the first time they dealt with someone who escaped a dangerous situation and left a couple of people behind. They should know how to handle such situations by now. Instead of Peter doing something wrong, it’s Peter trying to rescue two people despite the interference of two alleged heroes who should know better. It’s not “What did Peter do?” It’s “Why did Ben and Johnny turn into idiots?”.
