@Evan- Forget about it. It’s truly horribly written. Not only doesn’t Norman get his sins back but Peter never acknowledges that Kafka is 100% justified in wanting the sins returned to Norman.
@Michael — If that’s true, I wonder if the idea is to make Norman “selflessly” take his sins back for Dr. Kafka’s sake, thus becoming evil again, as his soul is the only one capable of carrying those sins. And therein is meant to lie the final sacrifice and heroism of the Gold Goblin.
I guess, in that case, perhaps we, as readers, are meant to have sympathy for Norman going forward. That’s a tall request, I know. But, ultimately, if it’s a return to status quo for him, maybe it won’t matter whether he warrants the readers’ sympathy in the long run or not.
I’m wondering how things will go with Norman and Kafka. The idea seems to be that Kafka will die unless Norman takes back his sins. But if Norman lets Kafka die, won’t he be evil again? And if he takes back his sins, won’t he be evil again? The spoilers for Venom 19 have Dylan fighting Gold Goblin, so Norman stays Gold Goblin at least until Venom 19.
(Unless, of course, Norman takes back the sins but tries to avoid returning to his old ways, and Dylan doesn’t trust Norman around Normie now that he’s got the sins back.)
