  1. Ben Reilly was a better single Spider-man than the resurrected Peter, whom I’m not sure CAN DIE. Can he 🙂

Nothing against the writers on the book now, they’re doing their best, but the rug (in my opinion) was pulled out from under them and they lost all the hype to the cries of something we should call ‘that terrible thing Joe did’. I mean, that was the worst. Who would actually put that two years from the OTher to Amazing 545.

Anyway, I read through the Ben issues where it’s him and he’s single and he’s on his own. I believe eventually you’d get a cool status quo with Ben now meeting up with Peter’s old foes (which are new to him) and maybe even working for Jonah. Man, that stuff is way better than now. …and best yet. Aunt May was dead!

    YAY!

  2. I found the second TPB to be kind of weak compared to the first one but it’s still nice to plug these holes in my collection. Stunner was pretty cool in the second TPB heh. <3

  3. Won’t be buying this one. The clone saga is what caused me to cancel all my subscriptions and stop collecting comics.

  4. If someone told me 5 years ago they would collect the clone saga, I would have laughed at them. But I guess it’s good for Ben Riley fans.

  5. It has to be the COMPLETE clone saga. I will be really dissapointed if they skip even one issue of the ongoing series or the scarlet spider titles. It’s ok for me if they ignore some mini series with ben but I don’t want any gap between the issues.

  6. Here, here, WebbedSentry….thoroughly enjoying the volumes I have thus far….keep em’ coming:)

  7. I dont care much about the length since regardless of its size ill buy it. I mean ive got The Complete Onslaught Epic and thats a 4 volumes, and they arent exactly small volumes at that. So if it does turn to be the ‘complete epic’ then the more the merrier, certainly better than buying BND right now imo 😛

  8. Possibly, but they promised us “the complete epic”. So I’m kinda expecting them to do the whole Reilly-as-Spidey era, even though that will put them up to a ludicrous number of volumes.

  9. Nick is right, at this rate this is going to be an ungodly collection, but I imagine a lot of the Ben Reilly stuff as Spider-Man will be skipped as it is not that important. Probably just key scenes up until about Blood Brothers, and the important stuff after that until the end.

  10. Well, it’s about three months of story in each one. I imagine the 5th volume will just about get us up to the point where Peter quits to move away with MJ, then the sixth volume will collect the godawful ‘Scarlet Spider’ titles and Ben’s first month or so as Spider-Man.

But at that pace… we could get up to ten or even eleven books, maybe? Wow. I thought it’d top off at eight or nine.
