  1. I have to say — I was initially intrigued with the idea of Spider-man Beyond, especially given that stirring image of Peter in the hospital bed, but the more I read or hear about the upcoming event, the less interested I become. Ben fighting Miles doesn’t appeal to me, nor does Aunt May dating Dr. Octopus. I wish I could say that I was still looking forward to this, so maybe I will be proven wrong.

  2. I really like that cover of Peter crawling on the hospital building. It’s very visual, tells a story, I like it. Plus I like confirmation Peter is going to have a role to play in this era.

That being said – how do Marvel except people to afford this. Especially the mythic new reader. The “three times a month” series is putting out five books in Nov and Dec. At this point I’ve dropped DC and independent books, so my only choice now is to drop a Marvel book to pay for this.

This might be an opt out point for me, as I move to Marvel Unlimited, as I’m not a Big Ben Riley fan I’m happy to wait.

  3. @Stuart
    Because it’s Bagley. :p
Well, covers tend to lie nowadays, so he may be really lying in bed inside the comic. Or maybe it’s just that his cellphone broke and can’t call for help.

  4. I’m not sure why Aunt May looks like her Ultimate counterpart on the Mark Bagley variant cover, but I do have to admit, even though his classic green-and-orange costume is my favorite look for Doc Ock, seeing Doctor Octopus back in his ’90s white Armani suit made me smile. I’m not sold the “Spider-Man Beyond” storyline though, especially since the “nonmobile” Peter is clearly wall-crawling in his hospital gown on one of the covers. We’ll see where this goes.
