Read’s Reads Amazing Spider-Man #2/966

I review issue 2 (966) of Joe Kelly’s new run on Amazing Spider-Man. The issue has a fun mystery element of the story line going with Roderick Kingsley (Hobgobin) and the mysterious villain (revealed at the end) and the artwork is great. But it feels like this issue is just a regular issue, as we get a bit more on Peter’s middle school day and what his new job is all about.

  1. Ryan, I think I figured of what bothers me with this run so far – we are getting Peter, Which i want, but he is not allowed a chance to be Peter. Sure, Spider-Man will always throw a wrench in his plans, but in the past ( ’60s, ’70s, ’80s) he had moments where he could go to class or go on a date or hold a job. Now everything is dominated by the need to be Spider-Man. This is a step in the right direction, but not far enough for me. I need to see him have some success as Peter before it gets snatched away.
