I review, part 8 of the Eight Deaths of Spider-Man (no this isn’t the end of the story we have two to go). While I do enjoy the character work that Justina Ireland did with Cyra of the Scions of Cyterrak. The only good thing about the book is the artwork by Andrea Broccardo. The rest of the story has a thin plot and also an ending everyone saw coming. Even a bigger question is finally asked, why is Cyterrak just sitting there doing nothing, especially when The Blight finally shows up behind him wondering if he can use the bathroom finally.
The plot here shows it’s drawn out. I mean Peter snaps out of his despair because “they aren’t supposed to die now!” Then we finally have everyone finally going: “wait why is Bog Daddy Red not doing anything like at all?” We have two tie in One Shots and still two issues to go. When this could have been like 4 issues and done.
Ryan, I have to agree with your grade here. These last two issues aren’t bad, for what they are – I’m not a fan of magic/Dr. Strange stuff in my Spidey comics – but they really should have been one issue. We didn’t need to drag out Spider-Man’s ho-hum for two full issues.
