No, no, it’s not the second Tuesday of the month, and no, this isn’t a Spider-Tracer article. Today, I thought we’d discuss a recent Hasbro livestream which included the reveals of nine new Marvel Legends figures based on the recent series of Playstation Spider-Man games. Let’s take a look at the full 6 figure wave first, and the Wal*Mart exclusive Spirit Spider, which should each retail for about $24.99. The 6 figure wave should go up for pre-order at 1PM EST on February 25th.at places like Amazon, Big Bad Toy Store, and Entertainment Earth.
Spirit Spider
This is the only figure that I am for sure getting, because it can easily double as his comic book counterpart, and it will really stand out in a Spider-Verse display. Basically, this skin appeared in the first Spidey game from 2018. It’s basically Spidey meets Ghost Rider, and I think it’s a really cool look. I could do without the blue on the arms and legs, but it’s not enough to discourage me from picking him up; with that head sculpt, I think he looks great! He comes with a nice array of hands, and will be available for pre-order from Wal*Mart on March 13th at 1PM EST, it seems.
Miles Morales (Boricua Suit)
Here we have Miles Morales in his Spidey suit with the Puerto Rican flag proudly displayed on his chest. The bright colors of the flag really pop on his chest, and, funny enough, he reminds me of Bucky Barnes’ Captain America suit. He’ll definitely stand out nicely on your shelf. Miles comes with 3 sets of hands and a web-line.
Peter Parker (Anti-Venom Suit Style)
I really love the metallic coloring on this guy! They’re very eye-catching, and I’d say blue and white is a unique set of colors for Spidey, which certainly gives this figure a very unique look. This Spidey comes with the 3 standard sets of hands, a web-line, and an alternate head with squinty eyes.
Miles Morales (Brooklyn 2099 Suit)
This Miles figure has what appears to be an all new, intricate sculpt, which I really like, even if the costume itself isn’t for me, all three sets of hands (2 fists, 2 thwipping hands, and 2 wall-crawling hands, for those keeping score at home), and 2 web-splat effect pieces which we’ve seen before. Not a bad figure!
Peter Parker (Black Suit)
As a big fan of the black suit from the comics, I really like how this figure turned out. He comes with the 3 sets of hands, and a symbiote tendril effect piece. The sculpt is all new, and appears to be accurate to the game. I only wish he had butterfly joints for wider range of movement in the arms.
Miles Morales (Upgraded Suit Style)
I originally thought this was a Peter Parker figure (since the standard game suit for Peter has yet to get the uniquely sculpted body treatment it deserves), but no, this figure is all Miles. He comes with 2 fists, 2 thwipping hands, and two electricity-wielding hands. As with the Boricua suit, the reds, whites and blues look excellent here.
Felicia Hardy (Black Cat)
Black Cat gets an all new sculpt here, and she looks very well done. She has a lot of great articulation, which is perfect for a lot of poseability, which a character like Felicia needs. She also comes with the Wand of Watoomb! Aside from that, she also comes with a fist, a grip hand, and two different styled claw hands. A lot of love seems to have gone into this figure.
Kingpin
Kingpin is a deluxe figure exclusive to Amazon; it sounds like he’ll retail for about $39.99 and go up for pre-order on March 27that 1PM EST. Fisk has a nice sculpt, which he mostly appears to share with previous Mr. Fixit Hulk figures from Hasbro, so if you have those, you’ll know what you’re mostly getting here. Fisk also comes with 2 gripping hands for the cane weapon included with him, as well as 2 fists. Kingpin is very tempting to get (this is his first black-suited figure since 2006), and should fit in nicely with a comic collection. I might pick this guy up (if I can lift him) at some point.
Venom
Venom is a biiiiig boy! This huge figure comes with a gripping symbiote effect piece, 2 fists, 2 open hands, 2 heads (1 smiling, the other with an open mouth and tongue) and a really cool drool effect for the tongue! He has a really awesome new sculpt, and even features rare toe articulation! Venom will go up for pre-order on February 27th at 1PM at places like Amazon, Big Bad Toy Store, and Entertainment Earth for $59.99.
