Spider-Tracer: 2025 Marvel Legends Reveals!

Welcome back, Spider-Man fans! I was thinking about what I wanted to write about for this month’s Spider-Tracer article when it hit me that I haven’t really talked about any Marvel Legends lately. So, I thought, what better time to discuss some cool toys than right before Christmas? I normally wait to post these Spider-Tracer articles until the second Tuesday of the month, but this just couldn’t wait! Anywho, with all of that being said, let’s take a look at some recently revealed Spider-Man Marvel Legends products which Hasbro showed off on their December 6th livestream.

First up, we’ll be taking a look at the 2025 Retro Spider-Man wave, which goes up for pre-order on December 12th at 1PM, EST from your favorite online retailers, like Amazon, BigBadToyStore, Hasbro Pulse, etc.

Spider-Boy

First appearing in “Spider-Man” Vol. 4, #7, Spider-Boy makes his debut in the Marvel Legends line. While not a figure I’ll be picking up, this Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos creation comes with a striking color scheme and plenty of new parts to appeal to fans and collectors. He’ll be coming with a cool alternate head, and an alternate set of hands (both fists and thwipping hands), as well as his backpack. While Spider-Boy doesn’t shoot webs, the Hasbro teams said they included the thwipping hands to show him trying to emulate his hero, Spider-Man. Personally, I think he should have just come with the all-crawling hands if he’s not shooting webs, but that’s just me.

Electro (Francine Frye)

Max Dillon, the original Electro’s ex and clone with electrical powers, gets her first figure, complete with a set of new electrical effects. She looks nice for what she is; she has nice maniacal smile and the colors really pop. I’m going to pass on this figure, too, unless she hits a nice clearance level price later. I have no interest in the character, but I do love team-building, and since I already have Lady Beetle and White Rabbit, adding Francine to the Syndicate could be pretty cool. Francine first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man” Vol. 3, #2, and got her Electro identity in “The Clone Conspiracy” courtesy of Ben Reilly, who had assumed the Jackal’s identity at the time.

Chameleon

Chameleon gets done in his look from the 1994 animated Spider-Man series. I have to say, I think his sculpt and paint are amazing! It’s odd that he comes with the JJJ mask (which the Hasbro team mentions is an homage of sorts to the original ToyBiz figure, which came with a JJJ head), given that, in the show, Chameleon used his belt hologram projector to assume identities (he later was able to do this without the belt thanks to Herbert Landon). I, personally, would have preferred if he got some alternate heads, but that’s just me. In addition to his mask, Chameleon will also be coming with a basic set of blaster weapons. I’ll definitely be picking this guy up, as he hits all of the right nostalgic buttons, and looks really well done.

Agent Venom

It’s been 10 years (11 when he finally comes out) since his last figure, but Agent Venom will be getting a much better, redone figure in this wave! I love the sculpt, and something about a white and black paint job just looks cool in figure form. I also really like that they’re giving him the unmasked head. For me, the only downside his Agent Venom coming with the same basic blaster weapons as Chameleon. I’ll be pre-ordering this guy on day one. Flash Thompson debuted the Agent Venom look in “The Amazing Spider-Man” #654 before getting his own, short-lived ongoing series.

Spider-Man Unlimited

I’ve been wanting a good figure of this Spider-Man costume for years. ToyBiz took a swing and missed by giving him a lame action feature, which caused me to entirely pass up the figure. This time, however, Hasbro has taken a swing, and it’s a triple; had he gotten some cell shading to better match his look in the 1999 cartoon of the same name, he’d have definitely been a  homerun! However, Hasbro did give him many appropriate, newly sculpted parts, which I’m very grateful for. Like Agent Venom and Chameleon, he’ll be a day one pre-order.

Kaine

Had you told me that Hasbro would be giving us a figure of Kaine in his classic 90’s look, I wouldn’t have believed you! And I have to say, he looks incredible! I love the bright fuchsia and blues of his costume, as well as his veiny sculpt! He is the standout figure in this wave for me, and, yes, I’ll be pre-ordering this guy, first and foremost! Pair him up with the recent Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider figure, and we have some really cool Clone Saga display potential! For those curious readers out there, you can check out Kaine’s mysterious debut in “Web of Spider-Man” #119, which has, thankfully, been collected in several collections over the years, including omnibus books, as well as a recent Epic Collection.

Spider-Man 1977

And while there has been no set pre-order or exact release date for this 2025 Wal*Mart exclusive, we’ll be getting a 1977 Nicholas Hammond Spider-Man figure! How cool is that? I never saw this coming, but I’ll definitely be picking one up if I can! I think he’ll look especially fantastic paired up with the Japanese Spider-Man on your Spider-Verse shelf (you do have a shelf for various Spider-Men and Spider-Women, don’t you?)!

The Lizard

Finally, we have a “Spider-Man: No Way Home” Lizard, and I think he’s gonna look very cool with your other villains from the movie. He will be going up for pre-order later this month as an Amazon exclusive. The team also confirmed that Electro, as he looked in the movie, would also be arriving this year. It’ll be great to finally finish the cinematic Sinister Si—er, I mean, Five. Sinister Five.
