(Marvel Press Release)
Following Zeb Wells’ landmark run, writer Joe Kelly and Justina Ireland alongside artists Ed McGuinness and Gleb Melnikov bring you a new Spidey epic titled THE 8 DEATHS OF SPIDER-MAN. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information on this 10-issue arc launching this fall!
And to discover what comes next for John Romita Jr. and Amazing Spider-Man, KEEP READING, TRUE BELIEVER!
Probably on the next Spider-News episode.
Isn’t the Crawlspace gonna talk about this? It seems there are news from the SDCC.
What’s weird is this isn’t presented as a new run. This is teased more like a story arc.
A long story arc but a story arc nonetheless.
At least Beyond felt like a run, even if it was a mini run
@Michael:
Now I need Cytorrak to star in a reboot of the sitcom “8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenager Daughter(s)”.
My guess is that Cytorrak has gotten human women pregnant somehow.
In my opinion, if you set a flashback story “9 months ago”, the only reason to use that specific amount of time is because someone got pregnant then and you can now flash forward 9 months and the baby is now born.
Who is pregnant???
I KNEW that Kelly writing the backup story with Dr. Strange and Peter in issue 50 meant that he would be the new Amazing writer.
It looks like he’s co-writing with Justina Ireland. I wonder if this is a “Beyond” type thing.
In the preview in Fist of Khonshu 0, as Peter and Bailey are swinging along, Khonshu and Cytorrak discuss what will happen if Strange’s successor fails to respect Strange’s treaties- what happens to Cytorrak’s children. (The story in issue 50 took place nine months ago!) And in Blood Hunt, Doom offers to help Strange and Clea stop Varnae in exchange for Strange making him Sorcerer Supreme. My guess is that Doom becomes Sorcerer Supreme, fails to respect the “treaties” and that leads into the Eight Deaths of Spider-Man. At least they’re using Cytorrak, since Peter’s fought Juggernaut before.
Well, since we can’t have Peter’s life continuing on, we may as well kill him 8 times. Why not.
