Jumping/flying fish aside, I’d say this is a contender for the most boring Ditko splash page.

  1. It happens to me all the time with old comics like this: if it weren’t for the text where it says it’s night, I’d think Spidey goes swinging during the day, because the sky is light blue.

  2. @Aqu@: You’re right. I guess that’s what I get for not paying attention to the text. At first glance all that blue was making me think of the sky and ocean.

  3. Boring – maybe. But they wanted to hold the reveal of the Master Planner’s identity to the second page.

    Plus I was always surprised that with how the MP’s identity is revealed on the 2nd page of the 2nd issue of this arc. It was presented as this big mystery in the previous issue – “Who is the Master Planner?” and then they just tell us at the literal start of the 2nd issue.
