The problem with this mystery (well, one of its problems) is that this story is immediately followed by the start of the Clone Saga. So even if you were one of the few who was actually interested in the FACADE mystery, all of a sudden you had a much bigger mystery to occupy your time. Once the clone arrived, the mystery of FACADE seemed unimportant in comparison.
Besides probably having heard it already somewhere, you just (re-)taught me the right pronounciation of facade. I too was rhyming it with arcade.
BTW, “Who is Facade?” According to Slott, we don’t care.
As a kid reading this story when it first came out, I had never heard of the word “facade” before (and for years I mispronounced it, rhyming it with “arcade”).
Who says that comic books don’t teach you things? I also learned the word “origin” from the Spider-Man newspaper strip.
