You can’t see in this panel what he’s putting on the grave, but this is *the* microscope, right?
I remember reading this issue when it came out, and as a kid who was fascinated by Spidey but didn’t know all of his history, this was a great issue to give me a summary of his history which was inaccessible at the time.
Also, this microscope is a bit of a continuity issue as there are 2 (3?) different microscopes throughout the years. I think a later issue has Peter selling the microscope, and then later Peter finds it in Aunt May’s attic (or maybe these 2 are the same story/microscope). I remember Josh discussing this in an ASM Classics episode.
