“Listen lady…”
“Doctor”
“Doctor…”
“DOCTOR LADY”
@Evan – There’s a *big* difference in calling someone “pretty lady” and saying “Listen, lady” to them. Once may get you a smile, the other may get you a smack upside the head.
@hornacek — I seem to recall Peter calling Mary Jane “pretty lady” from time to time, so maybe with that history, it didn’t bother her when he left off the “pretty.”
When you say “Get off my back, lady!” or “Listen, lady!” the woman’s reply is usually something like “Excuse me???”
@hornacek: I wanna say it was a bit more common for him to casually drop it in the ’70s, but I could be wrong.
Does Peter often call MJ “Lady”?
