I review the conclusion to Negative in Amazing Spider-Man. While a fun mini story, I take points off as we are shown that May not knowing that Peter is Spider-Man has not been good for the characters. Plus, some other oddities like the return of the Owl in the Kingpin’s good graces and just what do you call the “tender moment” between Norman Osborn and his grandson Normie?

I was really disappointed in the representation of the character of Spider-Man in this issue, particularly when he says he “never had much use for prayers” in one of the panels where Spidey is battling and his “thoughts” are written in the panels.
He’s not a grim and gritty hero. He’s not Wolverine, the Punisher, or Batman.
I thought this was far off from what Spider-Man would ever think or voice. Not very Parker of him.
Any one else have thoughts on this???
