I searched the entirety of the multiverse to seek out every Spider-Man to ever grace the pages of Marvel comics. Well, that’s what I intended to do, but it soon became an obsession that also sought out every Spider-Man, whether it was cartoon, video game, movie, tv, and anything else that stumbled into my path. 333,333,333 known universes. Here is an actual video taken of me by my son Grant sometime between March and November:
Guys, I have a research addiction problem.
So, what started this nonsense?
Well, I have always been a fan of What If? Spideys and the idea that with the multiverse, they are officially canon characters. And though I was not a major fan of the 90s animation series (Don’t hate! I didn’t say I hated it, just it’s not what gets me excited about Spidey. I’m more of a Hostess and Electric Company kind of guy), I was fascinated by the Spider-Wars: I Really Hate Clones story.
Then, in the midst of my Slott depression, I am given this:
And I dared to hope.
Unfortunately, it was more like an all-Swedish hockey team.*
However, it did not kill my fascination. I’ve toyed with the idea of searching out all the What If Spideys, but never took on the task. I thought it would be too big.
I was wrong. It was too massive, immense, ginormous, mammoth an undertaking. Luckily, I had help from our very own Carnage Swarm, Grant Alford. But, I have the answer now to the question, did Slott deliver on his promise to give us EVERY. SPIDER-MAN. EVER?**
So, what were the parameters for my search? I looked first for a Peter Parker on each earth. If there was no Peter Parker, I looked for the other Spider-totem (for lack of a better word) on that earth. I also, wherever possible, gave you the link to the Marvel Unlimited issue that Spidey first appeared in or where you can see or play it if it is not a comic-based universe.
So here it is guys, a list so large that it took FOUR google docs to contain it. Click the link to see the full chart (some highlights included under each)

So my challenge to you is, after you leave a comment praising me for my perseverance, if to find a Spider-Man I missed. It is up to date (I believe) through November, though Spider-Men tend to pop up in the strangest places. If you find one I missed, or one that came out after my list, send me an email – lordalford@gmail.com and I will add it in and give you credit. Cataloging alternate universes is like doing the dishes – it’s never over.
And, by the way, this year’s Cobwebs Final Exam will pull heavily from these alternate Spideys! So now it is your turn to heap proper praise on me in the comments section!

Hey, do you still need info on the 33900 military giveaway comic?
Great article Mark! However, I don’t see The Chi-Town Spidey anywhere. You gotta add me to the list. 😛
Joel, thanks for the high praise! And I included Peter Parker, Sheep -Boy, I will CERTAINLY look into the Crisis Peter Parker and include him if I can find him!
Hope to see you Tuesday on the podcast. BD is going to have Grant and me on it to look into these charts.
*EDIT* – Found and updated the chart! Thanks, Joel!
wow…just wow…I am in awe at the dedication you put into this this
not sure if this would count under Crossover Earth..but during the Crisis on Infinite Earths, there was Peter Parker of Earth-1 showing up in a panel..
@Old Guy – Well, I don’t think the leather bound official Crawlspace edition will be out anytime soon, so feel free to swipe away!
Are you thinking of printing and selling a bound version of this?
I can probably swipe it and print the pdf myself, but I would be happy to buy it from you.
Thanks for all the effort.
@Mark THANK YOU, SIR! It’s SO exciting for Sphero Spidey to be listed among the ranks of Spider-Monkey, the Arachnosaur, Spider-Ma’am, and Peter Pooper! #honored Sentcha an email about connecting about Sphero! You’re the bestest! 😀
@Evan – So my boy came through and decided to tackle the newly found undesignated earths himself! This is why it is infinitely better to team up with Grant rather than, say, Neil or Chi-Town…
@Andrew Bates and @Evan
Andrew – Awesome! Sphero has been added to the NO OFFICIAL DESIGNATION list on the fourth document, though he has been given an OFFICIAL CRAWLSPACE DESIGNATION of Earth-360 (who knows? It could become reality because as of now, Marvel has not officially designated a reality for Earth-360! I am intrigued with this backstory. Do you have those notes? I would love to do a Cobwebs article on Sphero and this behind the scenes look!
Evan – It’s a problem. And in searching for Andrew Bates’s earth-360, I found a whole slew of undesignated realities that I now need to delve into. Sorry students, your research papers have to wait! I have realities to explore! And you’re welcome! Hostess Spidey lives! It will take more than Dan Slott to take him down!
@Mark — I’m speechless. I do wish Stan Lee were alive to see this. Well, they always say the first step is admitting you have a problem. I just wanna say thanks for confirming that Hostess Spider-man didn’t die in Spider-verse.
Might I suggest my little buddy, Sphero’s Spider-Man the Interactive Toy? I’m actually the voice of him and we tried to create fun, fleshed-out, in-game universe for this version of Peter Parker to inhabit you get to know the more time you spend with him! Sadly a lot of out ongoing plans never came to be, but the writers did a ton of research and put in a ton of love for Spidey to incorporate a ton of Spidey lore! And I’ve always considered our version of Spidey to be the one from “Earth-360” because “Sphero’s” round, robotic spheres! Lol! Just a thought! Keep up the great work, Superhero!
