While I'm not helping my students above the age of fifty, get to grips with new technology, I keep myself busy by staying up-to date on new tech, as well as picking and choosing specific items for my Spidey collection, and one of these I hope to add a unique Silver Sable piece to it.

Here’s the solicitations for October 2009. As usual I’ll give my two cents. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #608 Written by MARC GUGGENHEIM Penciled by Marco Chechetto & Luke Ross Cover by Adi Granov 70th Anniversary Variant by […]
Good lord, Marvel, you just can’t stop the teases, can you? “With the events of the past few months, is there anything left?” Yes. If it was another writer but Nick Spencer, I’d be worried, since Spencer is pro Peter/M.J. But after 13 years and counting, Marvel, knock it off. Either undo “One More Day”, one of the most, if NOT the most, universally hated Spider-Man stories ever published, or split them up. Oh, wait. Marvel already did. Multiple times. From “killing” Mary Jane to separating them to undoing their marriage and giving him one pointless romance after the other. And guess what? None of those attempts worked. Fans hated them. And he is now with Mary Jane under Spencer’s run. AND we’re getting teased with an engagement ring on Peter’s part., which is something Marvel would not usually approve of.
Seriously though, it’s beyond time to undo One More Day. If Spencer’s run does not pay off with Peter remarrying Mary Jane or having their marriage restored, then what’s the point of his run? To have Mary Jane date Peter? How is that different from anyone else’s run? Why bother with the engagement ring if you won’t have the two end up together? How much longer can Marvel keep up Peter dating Mary Jane if neither the characters nor their relationship progresses? Why tease “To Have and To Hold”, my favorite Spider-Marriage story, and all of those teases of Peter’s past marriage to Mary Jane if that’s not your endgame?
I’m not holding my breath on anything Marvel promises these days. Time will tell…
Take a real good look at this cover and then compare it to Bill Sinkiewicz poster for wedding issue between Peter Parker and Mary Jane. Also it’s in the month of Feb, the month of love. NOW..THAT being said, doesn’t mean it’ll happen, but Spencer has hit all of his plots and subplots since his first ASM run and FCBD. I’m excited and terrified at the same time. I want this to be good and rewarding.
“ the solicitations haven’t been truthful for most of the run” – ain’t that that truth. Last issue promised the most brutal fight in Spider-Man history. It was mostly flashbacks
The cover and solicit definitely got my attention
This issue, to me, will be crucial to setting us on the path to issues 100 of the current volume and the 900th issue of Amazing Spider-Man overall immediately after. This will probably be the make or break moment involving the engagement ring and Peter’s intended proposal.
Remember people, the solicitations haven’t been truthful for most of the run, especially for Last Remains, and this issue comes one book removed from the “end of an era” in Spencer’s run…so that can’t mean the end of Peter and MJ if the very next issue is focused on the state of their relationship.
