The best rebuttal against the “Saint Gwen” argument is to go and actually (re)read the issues where Peter and Gwen are a couple. You quickly realize “Oh, Gwen is actually pretty awful. One moment she’s fawning over Peter, the next she’s yelling at him, and the next she’s crying in her daddy’s arms.”
Y’know, I probably should still hate this story like everyone else, but I don’t see anything special in Gwen and her ‘sainthood’ has grown so far out of control, I now really love anything that shatters that myth.
I was very surprised that Amazing Spider-Man #850 actually alluded to this.
JR gave a pretty plausible explanation in one of his essays as to how this could happen.
I will never buy that this was a thing Gwen would ever plausibly do.
Oh ya Norman O face. The clone saga was worth it just for that moment
Oh, man — You should have saved that one for Halloween.
One of many times where Osborn’s real face is a lot scarier than the Goblin mask.
And of course, what the heck were they THINKING?!
