Ignore it, I say. The reality should be:
Betty Brant: Cute first HS GF. She’s kind of unstable, but you’re still friends.
Gwen Stacey: First serious college GF. You will never forget her (for obvious reasons), but it wasn’t really your fault (unlike Uncle Ben).
MJ Watson: Best friend-who-is-a-girl from college days, whom you reconnected with later, worked through some rough times together, grew up together, and married. It’s as if Linus and Pepermint Patty grew up and got married.
Really gross making Betty an adulterer and Peter willing to have an affair with his colleague’s wife. Not sure what Wolfman was thinking. This never sat right with me.
