@William Sinclair – One of the greatest sins the ASM movies did (and that’s a long list) is (a) have Peter work for the Bugle but never showing JJJ onscreen, and (b) having Peter meeting and being hired by JJJ offscreen.
He’s still so great at this! I don’t see why he can’t be JJJ in the MCU, I don’t think anyone on earth would mind if they just ignored the usual reboot rules and had him reprise the role (kind of like how Judi Dench was M in two different bond continuities.) It’s sad that we’ve had so many Spidey films now without any Jonah (not counting that very small cameo at the end of into the Spider-verse!)
