AMAZING SPIDER-MAN CLASSICS HAS A NEW HOME-ON THE SPIDEY-DUDE RADIO NETWORK

May 29, 2018

Back in 2009, a show called Clone Saga Chronicles was born. Joshua Lapin-Bertone and Zach Joiner teamed up to launch a comprehensive lookback at the infamous Spider-Man Clone Saga storyline that ran from 1994-1996. After beginning a successful run, Josh teamed up with Donovan Morgan Grant and Jon M. Wilson to launch a Podcast called Amazing Spider-Man Classics. This show was a labor of love and featured keen insight into the character of the Lee-Ditko Peter Parker, and infamously launched the obsession with referring to Betty Brant as a ‘Terrible Person”. The group had so much fun Podcasting that  they all got together at one point and met in 2011 at San Diego Comic Con, joined by the Crawl Space’s own Zach Joiner and Stella Bowman.
In 2012, the show began to disband and then trio had begun their own projects but many always clamored for more. In 2016, four ‘lost’ episodes were discovered and were released, and a planned revival was put on hold indefinitely. By 2017, the show was lost to the ether, thought to never come around again.

During the hiatus, Zach approached Jon about possibly hosting the shows archive so the show wouldn’t die, but he politely declined…

Until now.

Starting June 12th, the show will be reviving over the next forty weeks, every single Tuesday. We are excited to bring this to you and we look forward to re-sharing with the world, all that this wonderful show has to offer.

Zach Joiner had this to say:
“I’m really excited to bring this show back to where people can listen and enjoy it. It’s something that I know many wanted to get into but never could after it went away. I know and respect all the guys involved and continue to both follow them in their Podcasting and co-host with Josh and Donovan. ASM Classics was not quite the first spin off of a Spider-Man Crawl Space, but due to the nature of how closely aligned it was with them, it was close. I always thought of it as a spiritual brother to us over at Spideydude, and I think it fills a void of covering Spider-Man here that we didn’t have before. I look forward to seeing the response on this and hopefully bring new fans the fold on the Spideydude Radio Network. The mission of Spideydude is to provide consistent content, and we’ve failed on that front for far too long. We hope that fans, old and new alike, will not only enjoy this show, but the other shows on the network, CLONE SAGA CHRONICLES, SPECTACULAR RADIO AND MAYDAY MONDAYS. Again, I look forward to the response. To have those old episodes, here on the site, is awesome. A great show was saved, from being lost.”

  1. Any chance of pulling Teenage Wasteland out of the archives? I never got to listen to it before it disappeared.

  2. This is great news! Are we getting just the new episodes, or will we have access to the old episodes too? During the recent revival, I only got to download one of the “lost” episodes before the podcast went offline and I couldn’t download the rest of the “lost” episodes.
