GREETINGS CRAWLSPACER’S WE GOT A REAL TREAT FOR YOU TODAY!
So when receiving my commission from top-notch artist Alex Savuik, I told him that I was a huge fan of his run on Web of Spider-Man and a huge fan of Parallel Lives. A book he did with Gerry Conway that he was particular proud of! Mr Savuik expressed that Parallel Lives was one of his favorite books that he ever drew in his career! Which we all know, what you DON’T know is that it was initially planned as a three part WEB OF SPIDER-MAN story!!!
At first he drew three covers and then Marvel decided on a GN format with the three covers to be used as chapter openings. The GN happened but without the chapter cover art. And fabulous inking by Andy Mushynsky— very true to his pencils but such a beautiful finishing line! Being the huge fan that I am, I asked to see the covers that never made it to print and he found the files and shared them with me. So here’s your Spider-Man Crawlspace Exclusive!!! Three covers that was supposed to be the chapter covers for Parallel Lives! One of these covers was used as a pinup for Marvel Super Heroes #1. The rest were sold on eBay years ago. TFN, I like all things Saviuk, but I prefer his Web stuff over that Spider-Man Adventures stuff.
If anyone is interested, here’s the colour version of the first cover (from Marvel Super Heroes #4):

The first cover was a pin-up in Marvel Super Heroes (1990 2nd Series) #4
Hey BD, where you a fan of the more Bruce Timm-like style he used for the animated Spider-man comic?
@hornacek: Looks like it.
In the first cover, just below Spidey’s head, is that one of the aliens from ASM #2?
