Hi Leanne!  Thanks for doing this interview!  So glad to have you with us.
Hi! Thank you for having me here on the Crawlspace website!

I understand this is your first cosplay interview?  Congrats!  It’ll be fun!
Yes it is! And it’s kind of exciting haha . I’m really happy to let people know a bit more about my cosplays .

So you dressed up as Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker’s soulmate.  What made you decide to do that?
I really like the Spider-Man universe and its characters and felt like MJ was a great and easy character to start with . Not gonna lie I also really like her style and since her hair matches mine I thought to myself : “Why not ?!”

Do you know anything about Mary Jane or just decided, this would be fun to do?
I do know about her and love her relationship with Peter Parker. And of course the fact that we are both redheads with green eyes made me choose Mary Jane over another Peter Parker’s lover such as Gwen.
Where you introduced to the character in comics or more in media (TV, Movies, ect..)
Actually I was first introduced to this character by the movies I believe , but I really got interested in her when I started to learn more about the Spiderverse through internet searches and comic books.
Is there any merchandise you hold dear to you that represents your love for the character besides your Cosplay?
I do not own MJ things in particular but I do owns few Spider-Man related things such as figurines and my keychains for example!

What was that like designing the costume and did the costume present any hurdles to you when making it?
This was a very quick and easy cosplay to be honest . But I wanted the shirt to look nice so I decided I’d make it all myself and color in the Spider-Man drawing myself with alcohol pen. Other than this it was really easy!

You suited up for the first time and ready to walk on out of the floor. What was that like and how did that feel?
It felt great to finally own a “casual” cosplay hahaha . I usually wear cosplays that are not that comfortable. I also had amazing feedbacks and people seemed to love my cosplay and it made me really happy!

Sometimes a costume you cosplay as defines you, because you represent it so much. Has anyone ever called you “MJ” or “Mary Jane” while out of costume?
Some people do ! Sometimes just because  it was the first cosplay they met me in or sometimes just cause they think it fits me really well.

This is a Spider-Man site, but I’m sure people would like to know. What other cosplay costumes have you done?
I’ve done another one from the Spider-Man universe which is BlackCat and I’m actually working on a new cosplay from this universe .. You should definitely give a look at my social media if you love Spider Man!  I also cosplayed other characters such as Starfire from Teen Titans , The little mermaid , Slave Leia , Daenerys, a female version of Freddy Krueger and many others!
