The issues starts off…
With Jonah tapping away on his blog to spread the word on how menacing Spider-Man is when it comes to property damage and automatically gets a spam bot as his first comment after publishing. Scene shift to Teresa being watched, in a creepy-not-so-creepy way by Inhuman Karnak. Peter and Johnny burst in to check on her, stating that his secret identity is the most important thing and decide to go pay a visit to Kingpin.
Thoughts: More Peter/Johnny banter which I like. I did enjoy. What I didn’t like is Peter yelling at Johnny about he needs to keep his idenity secret. Um…excuse me, wasn’t he just the guy that payed Ironheart a visit IN COSTUME at her PLACE OF RESIDENCE? Don’t like that he says one thing, only to completely go the opposite of what he JUST said!
Teresa convinces Peter that she can tag along with both him and Johnny to take down the Kingpin. First, they will go to Mason to have Teresa get some updated suit for added protection. The three head to Mason’s lab where Peter says to Mason “Teresa, my sister..”
TIMEOUT! We just witnessed Peter yelling at Johnny about he whole secret identity bit, right? Then he straight out tells Mason that Teresa is his sister?! What the What?! Anyone with half a brain would figure this out. “Teresa is Spider-Man’s sister? I thought he was Peter Parker sister. Hey, wasn’t Spider-Man in close ties with Parker and he’s never around when….” Least when Clark Kent wears glasses he can act differently than Superman. The banter between Uatu was amusing but felt rushed for comedic purposes.
Mason helps Teresa out by giving her wings so now that she can fly and the three head on over to break into Fisk’s building. Johnny storm burns a hole in the side of the building and Spidey states that they should slip in quiet like.
Thoughts: …..dude…. your friend just burned through a window in a skyscraper. The element of “stealth” doesn’t come after that molten melted mess.
The three *heavy sigh* “sneak” in to find proof against Fisk. Fisk then emerges from his personal washroom and faces the heroes.
Thoughts: You know what would have been a good stealth tatic? Looking through the window and scoping out the scene before melting the glass and entering.
The guards come in and take on Teresa and Johnny, while the Kingpin fights Spider-Man by pulling a Mysterio trick to confuse the webslinger with holograms of himself. After getting smacked around, Spider-Man remember to ignore what he see’s and hears and let’s his Spider-Sense be with him. Finds the real Kingpin and knocks him down, but not out.
Fisks see Teresa and puts two and two together.
Thoughts: SEE?! Maybe, just maybe to protect you sister-not sister, …. give her a MASK. Oh sure, wings are great, but no one will notice her or figure it out with her face exposed fashioning a pony tail. Even when she’s standing still. ow…my head hurts…
Kingpin admits that he has been doing something the hack stark phones, but it wasn’t him doing the hacking. He introduces the real man behind the curtain that has been helping him. The Tinkerer! Tinkerer shows up in the elevator see the heroes and spider slayers up in a new suit ready to lay the smack down.
Pros
- Banter with Johnny/Peter
Cons:
- Everything else. Peter saying one thing and doing the complete opposite
- Not managing his fighting style early on or the safety of his friends well.
- Forced comedic banter that doesn’t suit him very well.
