  1. The cover is awesome; the red around each of the supporting characters’ heads is also a great homage to the title itself during the Romita years, when the same heads depicted (most of the time) imminent danger to their lives through Spider-Man’s battles.

It’s a great thing that the ASM title featured monthly Alex Ross’ painted covers throughout the final phase of Slott’s run, instead of milestones issues.

  2. Jim Lee made me buy the entirety of Superman: For Tomorrow.

I STILL haven’t forgiven him for that. And the team up of Stuart Immonen(Nextwave REPRESENT!!!!) and Alex Ross will NOT get me to make the same mistake again.

  3. I really like the cover, it makes the ‘red goblin’ look genuinely terrifying, even if the concept is a bit rubbish.

Though is it just me, or does Spidey look like he’s in an epic heavy metal stance?

  4. This is fantastic news. I stopped collecting Spider-Man comics after issue 700 all because of the worst writer ever to be trusted with the care of what was the most iconic character in comic books ruined almost completely my beloved Spider-Man. I have every single issue of Amazing Spider-Man and finally after 100 issues I can finally be a fan again! Cheers to issue 801!

  5. Meh. I’ll buy it, but odds are I’ll watch the video podcast and hear the panel recap the issue before I read it myself. I miss the days I’d buy ASM and want to read it right away.
