Yes, I can understand the reasoning from a marketing standpoint. I was dumb enough to buy every (and I do mean *every*) tie-in issue for Secret Wars II back in the day.
But I meant from an in-universe standpoint – it sounds like this most (if not all) of this issue will take place in 2099. What does it have to do with CW2? If Marvel is going to slap the CW2 logo on a tie-in issue, that issue should have something to do with CW2, even tangentially.
@ Hornacek – So that it can be a tie-in in at least spirit so PAD can get the boost from retailers that an even tie-in gets without having to interrupt his story by getting Miguel involved in the actual event.
At least that’s what I’d assume.
How can this issue of Spider-Man 2099 be a Civil War II tie-in if it takes places in the year 2099? I doubt this civil war will continue for 80 more years.
