While it isn’t surprising to see the increase in sales for Amazing Spider-Man #15, considering it’s Mary Jane on the cover donning the the Spider-Armour, which I believe most of the 22,000 bought it for, that and the fact people expected to see her fight a long side Spider-Man and rekindle her friendship with Peter.

Unfortunately we ended up being disappointed in both counts, first while there was some panels where Spider-Man and Mary Jane fought along side each other, it was small compared to her fighting alongside Iron Man. And as for the reconciliation between Mary Jane and Peter, it was more between her and Spider-Man than Peter, with the rug being pulled from under us with the final pages, and as consequence for that major disappointment, I am expecting a big drop in next months sales figure.

and yes, considering the sales for Web Warriors, it’s scheduled to be cancelled with issue #11 in September.

  1. While it isn’t surprising to see the increase in sales for Amazing Spider-Man #15, considering it’s Mary Jane on the cover donning the the Spider-Armour, which I believe most of the 22,000 bought it for, that and the fact people expected to see her fight in the pages a long side Spider-Man.

Unfortunately we only got a small glimpse of them fighting along side each other, 2-3 panels at most, with the larger amount of panels fighting along side Tony/Iron Man.

There was also the hope that we would see their friendship rekindled in those pages, and while we did get something like that, it really wasn’t between Peter and Mary Jane, but between Spider-Man and Mary Jane, add to that the final few pages that showed something that looked like Peter and Mary Jane getting ready to meet up and spend some time together. Only to be slapped in the face by them going to different parties, Peter to a coffee shop to meet his friends and employees and Mary Jane to have a Private Party with Tony and his butler Jarvis and on top of that Mary Jane stating that she’s happy where she currently is.

So with this disappointment and punch to gut, I am expecting a large drop in the figures for August.
