Following up on yesterday’s story, six-year old Spider-Mable and Spidey teamed up to fight crime and save an Edmonton Oiler hockey player Andrew Ference.

Stories of superheroes such as Spiderman have helped sustain a six-year-old Edmonton girl over the past two years as she copes with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
On Monday, the Children’s Wish Foundation is helping the girl, identified only as Mable, live out her fantasy.
She wasn’t told in advance that she has been cast as the heroine in a day where she was scheduled to zip about Edmonton, cast as the superhero “SpiderMable.”
Mable developed her love of the 1960s Spiderman series while coping with cancer treatment.
Her day started by watching herself on an imaginary newscast, cast as a superhero setting out to combat mysterious phenomena in her city.
One of the crimes she sets out to solve is the kidnapping of Edmonton Oilers captain Andrew Ference.
To help her solve the crime, she met with Mayor Don Iveson and police officials.
Premier Rachel Notley also got behind her, retweeting the police message “Please #SpiderMable — you’re our only hope!”
After her visit to city hall and police headquarters, she was due to travel to the World Waterpark at the West Edmonton Mall, followed by a trip to the Edmonton Valley Zoo to free a hostage.
