The last few days, Marvel has been revealing their new line up for one of their front runner books after Secret Wars. Marvel quickly ushered out an official look at the new roster and the full Uncanny Inhumans cover on Wired UK Thursday morning.
The All-New All-Different Avengers shows the full team, it will be comprised of “an” Iron Man (Wired’s wording), Sam Wilson Captain America, Lady Thor, Nova (Sam Alexander), the Vision, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) and the Spider-Man from the Ultimate universe, Miles Morales!
Although not listed, the earlier leaked version of this cover listed Mark Waid, Mahmud Asrar and Laura Martin as the book’s creators. Asrar has confirmed his involvement on social media that he will be on All-New, All-Different Avengers but didn’t comment any further. No word yet from either Waid or Martin on their involvement. All-New, All-Different Avengers will be part of Free Comic Book Day on May 2nd along with the Uncanny Inhumans by Charles Soule, which will have Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four joining The Inhumans’ street team.
So what does everyone think? Miles Morales is officially part of the Avengers, which means the Ultimate Universe might be indeed over after Secret Wars. Or how about Johnny Storm heading over to Uncanny Inhumans?

@53 thank you for this post cause I couldn’t agree more. There are super heroes that can be different people I.e. A green lantern like character and there are heroes who are so ingrained with the person under the mask it doesn’t make an iota of sense for it to be anyone else. Like how they made falcon now captain falcon I’ll never recognize him as captain America when I see him I see a substitute not the real thing. If they introduced a new falcon I won’t think of him as the actual falcon just a guy who really likes playing dress up as falcon. Which is why I never really acknoledged miles as “th ultimate spider-man” cause he’s not spider-man and never will be. And by others here comments here feel the same.

Every time that Miles puts on the costume, it seems counterfeit — right down to his quipping while fighting, which feels like an attempted imitation of the real thing. He’s bland as a character, far too overpowered (how many fights can one person win with a magic zap finger?), and worse still — Bendis had Peter show up not just once (with the 616 version) but twice (with Ultimate Peter’s resurrection) just so Spider-Man could give a sort of legitimacy to his own pet character. It was all rather obvious and terribly unconvincing. Spider-Man is an extension of who Peter is — it’s not just a costumed identity he puts on. It’s him. I’ve never bought it as this mantle to be handed over and passed around from person to person. If Spider-Man is like a car, then Peter is the engine that makes it run.
Miguel/Spider-Man 2099 kind of works as a “what if” scenario from a far future where Peter would technically be dead. But even then, it still pales compared to Spider-Man proper.
Anyway, just a point of disagreement. But you’re also talking to someone who thinks there are far too many spider people these days, and none of them as convincing as the original. I’m half-expecting for Webby, the Spider-Cat to show up after Secret Wars.
Artists pay tribute to covers and iconic panels all the time, I don’t see the problem.
