Actually, if I’m correct, the plot of ASM #17 is the EXACT SAME PLOT as an episode of Iron Man: Armored Adventures, only Ghost was stealing Iron Man specs for Stane to find out Iron Man’s alter ego. However, noting the fact that Ghost is blowing up this company, I’m not sure if I should give Slott credit for twisting the story a bit or giving him a thumbs-down for ripping off the story in the first place.
Also, Stillanerd, place your bet on which character you hate the most will win: Silk or Black Cat? I’m guessing you don’t care, since they’re both terrible at this point? Eh, I don’t either.
And there went the Ultimate Verse. I was just assuming that in this whole “Universal Decay” debacle that all the universes would be just destroyed and they’d do a thing sort of like Flashpoint Paradox; only here, one of the characters escapes the inevitable and unstoppable final Incursion and goes back in time before the universe is destroyed, gets trapped between in the space between dimensions, and manages to escape to a New 52-like universe where everything about the characters is rebooted. Honestly, if Battleworld is going to be the new MU-wide status quo for the next five years, I’m just going to go write a fanfic about it and pitch it to Marvel as an AU to create Earth-9769 (a number I use frequently in my stories). Maybe then we can get some fans to work on the comics, and do what we think would work as a massive liaison between canon and fanon.
“The” Ghost? Never heard of this Marvel villain before.
#6 Not A ghost, The Ghost. A mentally unstable anarchist terrorist out to destroy the world’s largest tech corporations.
The Amazing Spider-Man versus….. a ghost? Hmm, I think I’ll give this story arc a try. Hopefully Ramos will be replaced by another artist soon.
The Gerry Conway story is on my pull list as well. Loved his run on Amazing Spider-Man. Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Gwen(couldn’t they pick a better name for her?) looks interesting, I’ll buy those comics too. As for Spider-Man and The X-Men… I guess I’ll pick up #5 and skip #6.
The rest of the new Spidey books dosen’t interest me in the slightest. Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man had gotten really good when Bendis brought Peter back, but then he sent him off with Mary Plain…. I mean Jane. Is it too much to ask for another Ulitimate Spider-Man title starring the Ultimate Peter Parker?
Yay! Amazing Spider-Man back on my list, but only the Gerry Conway point issues. 🙂
Oh sweet, Ghost! Great character, and it makes sense for Spider-Man to be crossing paths with him, now that he’s running a big tech company. Really smart villain usage.
So I guess we’re seeing the Ultimate U enter Secret Wars? Cool! So Slott’s first ASM issues of the reboot were pretty much just set up for the Silk series?Yay…
Frank Castle on a man-hunt for Spider-Gwen? I’ll buy it, especially since Frank went after Spidey because he thought he killed Gwen back in the 1970s. Also new crappy character Silk vs. new crappy characterisation Black Cat…yeah no.
Looks like I picked a good month to jump back into spider-man. Love the Ghost.
