  1. #3 The Prowler — I know it’s been two months since this particular podcast, Prowler, but I just now saw your comment and I want to sincerely thank you for your constructive criticism, which you shouldn’t apologize for at all. Because you’re absolutely right–I have this terrible, terrible tendency to babble, especially whenever I get too excited, anxious, or nervous. One of the reasons why I like to write and read aloud is because it forces me to slow down and collect my thoughts together rather than let them fly loose a mile a minute. It also helps tremendously whenever someone does tell me to “think before you speak” as you have done because, sometimes, I’m not even aware I’m doing so until it gets brought to my attention. Also, you’re definitely not alone in being annoyed by how I talk on the podcast because whenever I listen to myself, that when I really notice how I speak and have to remind myself to try not to do it again next time. So again, thank you so much for letting me know and for your patience.

  2. Guys, I love your show, but listening to this week’s podcast, I felt I had to speak my mind: my enjoyment of the show has taken a serious dive since Stillanerd joined the crew. He obviously has a lot of love and affection for the character, but listening to him is driving me nuts! Nearly every sentence gets this long, frantic prelude along the line of “Well, you know, um…well, the point is…um…no, see…”, like he has five separate trains of thought that are all leaving the station together at full speed, which makes for a really, really unpleasant listening experience IMHO. I don’t want to be presumptuous, since I’ve never done a podcast myself, but my constructive advice would be: please, please take a few seconds to think of what you’re going to say before speaking. A short moment of silence is a lot more pleasant on the ears than ‘gathering thoughts out loud’, and would interrupt the flow of the conversation less (the other guys do this really well, by the way).

Sorry Stillanerd, I’m sure you’re a good guy, not to mention still new at this, and I don’t really like criticizing a fellow Spider-Fan, but this has been bugging me for a while now.

  3. The article seems to say that the phrase has become indefinable.

Carlie Cooper and Cindy Moon aren’t author avatars (at least, I sure hope not). They fall into the Obnoxiously Perfect classification.

It was interesting to read to read Slott’s resentful complaining against the fans a coupkle of months ago, about why people rejected Cooper. It had nothing to do with his writing abilities. It was that fans are a bunch of stupid, nostalgic stick-in-the-muds.
