The Amazing Spider-Man 2 bought in 92 million dollars in ticket sales this past weekend. Variety is reporting it’s taken in 370 million worldwide. The movie fell short of the record opening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier which opened to 95 million in April.

You are absolutely right. This movie is still far and away better than the Transformers movies. Especially the second one.

The Transformers movies were all explosions, no substance you mean. You want a good TF movie, stick with the 86 one. Sure it was a feature length toy commercial, but it was still better than what Bay managed to do.
Aren’t the Transformers movies basically all style, no substance? I would imagine ASM2 has way more substance than those movies.
ASM2 is much better than any of the Transformers movies. As muddled as ASM2’s plot is, at least it has one and it contains some very well executed scenes. The Transformers movies are badly directed, substanceless and horrible adaptations of the source material.
I think Man Of Steel is a better comparison, in that both films seem to have divided their respective fanbases, but were both incredibly lucrative for their respective studios.
I’ll explain. Both movies made a great deal of money despite not being that good. I think it’s a good comparison myself.
This film should not be compared to the Transformers. I don’t understand the critisim for Amz2
… you know, the Transformers movies raked in big numbers too. And we know how those turned out.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier got the record for best APRIL opening. I’m pretty sure that’s an apples-to-oranges comparison …
