So… no one wants a Spider-Man towel?
Does anyone notice a difference in how Spider-Man today was written differently in JMS’ run? He was written to be more of an adult, and even after he got MJ back, I remember reading a scene where he and her were celebrating, and he was joking around with the waiter, the adult in him fully formed along with his regular humor. I think it’s sad that he has to revert back to a more bumbling version of himself.
Sorry I meant email address.
Hey guys what is the website to send your submissions for the contest again?
I actually bought and read the book, and it wasn’t that great for spidey. For starters he still does the unmasking, but the reasons aren’t great at all and there wasn’t a debate about it like it was in the comics. And the scenes involving MJ weren’t the highlight for any spider-fan.
Great podcast, guys. You made some solid points on the “acid boarding” of Sandman. I made similar observations online and was told I somehow didn’t understand the character.
Needless to say, I wasn’t a fan of Ends of the Earth’s conclusion: http://bit.ly/MrXwBK
Looking forward to your next podcast.
George, who’s your favorite Spidey voice?
Spidey didn’t act like “himself” through the whole adventure. For years now Marvel has portrayed him as a bumbling, irritating newbie. All of a sudden he’s Captain Commander, ordering two buxom spy babes left and right; also in control of his thoughts and emotions enough to cajole Mysterio into betraying Ock. But he’s too dense to say just one word — “Keemia” — to Marko. This isn’t quite as bad as the way Bendis twists standing characterizations to fit into his pre-conceived plots, but it’s in the same wheelhouse.
“The gang chimes in on the Drake and Josh debate.”
I see what you did there…
