Spider Island Deadly Foes

Here’s another tie in to the Spider Island storyline.

SPIDER-ISLAND Unleashes Spider-Man’s DEADLY FOES

With all of Manhattan quarantined due to Spider-Island, The Jackal and Hobgoblin take advantage of the mass hysteria to destroy the Amazing Spider-Man! This August, join Dan Slott, Christos Gage, Fred Van Lente, Giuseppe Camuncoli and Minck Oosterveer as they  bring on the bad guys for Spider-Island: Deadly Foes #1! How will each of these villains exploit the spider-plague that’s eating the Big Apple from the inside out? And what perverse plans have they crafted for Spider-Man?

“The new Hobgoblin and the Jackal play central roles in Slott and Ramos’ Spider-Island epic. With this double-sized special we’re giving the readers two thrilling, death-defying stories connected directly to Spider-Island’s main artery,” said senior editor Steve Wacker. “This ain’t just a couple origin stories. Chris Gage and Fred Van Lente worked closely with Dan to weave stories that serve to violently expand the main Spider-Island plot.”

Discover the consequences when two of the most twisted minds Spider-Man has ever faced take their madness to an all-new extreme this August, only in Spider-Island: Deadly Foes #1!

  1. @#16 – Yeah, I noticed that after I looked at it a second time. Great drawing.

  2. i don’t really care too much for the Urich-Hobgoblin, but i that pic is a nice tribute to the first appearance of the Hobgoblin…kinda cool…

  3. looks like a homage to amazing spider-man 238 with hobgoblin ripping the spider-costume in half

  4. Wow, that sounds kinda aweome. And who drew that picturè? Looks amazing.

  5. Nothing cool ever happens in Washington DC/Northern Virginia… hah…

I loved the Mr. Parker goes to Washington story during the Road to Civil War. Seeing him stick his web to the Washington monument to toss Titanium Man towards the Lincoln memorial was an awesome scene.

  6. Stop your whining, I’m stuck with Alpha Flight….
    Oh yeah and Wolverine!
    *gloats*
    😛

  7. The town I’m from in North Georgia was mentioned in a DC comic called Bloodhound once. Didn’t care for the comic, but it was still kinda cool to see. Stuff goes down in Atlanta from time to time, but for the most part the Peach State is like every other state in the Marvel Universe that isn’t New York. Which would be a good thing for the residents, I’d think.

As far as the one-shot goes, I don’t hate Phil Urich Hobgoblin so I’ll probably pick it up. His recent appearances in Spider-Girl and Herc haven’t done anything for me though.

  8. What the heck happens in Arizona? I wanna get spider powers.. I’d use them responsibly!

  9. Hey what happened to the ASM 660 review that was on the front page? whyd it get taken down?

And Im happy to have Moon Knight here. and the xmen a couple hours drive away

  10. Im excited for Spider Island. It makes me want to move to Manhattan. Noone seems to get spider powers here in LA

  11. I assume when they say “The new Hobgoblin” they actually mean “The new piece of crap we’re calling the Hobgoblin”.

  12. God almighty spider-island is starting to have more tie ins than most major event! ASM, Cloak and Dagger, Venom, Spider-girl, Herc and Heroes for Hire!

  13. ‘Discover the consequences when two of the most twisted minds Spider-Man has ever faced take their madness to an all-new extreme this August, only in Spider-Island: Deadly Foes #1!’

…Is he talking about the Jackal and Hobgoblin, or Ramos and Slott?

  14. Man, I wish they’d just bring the old Doc Ock back. He’s a better villian than people give him credit for. That guy looks like Gaunt from the end of the Clone Saga.
