Hey, all. Michael Bailey here with some good news in a bad situation. As many of you know our webmaster and grand pooh bah of the Crawlspace lives in Joplin, Missouri. At around 6 PM on Sunday night a tornado hit Joplin leaving telephone connections largely cut off and many without power. While there were numerous injuries and, sadly, a few fatalities Brad wanted me to let everyone know that he and his family are fine. He is without Internet service at the moment otherwise he would have posted this himself. Joplin is the home of the Crawlspace, so let’s keep its citizens in our thoughts and prayers tonight.
If you would like to contribute to the relief and rescue efforts visit the Ozarks Red Cross, which you can find by clicking on this link.
I am sure Brad will be on as soon as he can to give us more details but until then let’s keep those positive thoughts coming and leave a comment on this post letting Brad know that we all are thinking about him and his hometown. I think this is one time where we can all put aside our negative thoughts and come together as a community to support the guy that makes all of this possible.
BD I have gladly donated to the Red Cross to assist in the relief effort in Joplin MO. Glad to hear you and your family are doing well. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those in that area…
Glad to hear Mr. Douglas and his family are OK. I will keep my thoughts and prayers going out to them.
really good to know. 🙂
Happy to hear that you and your family are safe, Brad. I’ll be praying for you, your family, and the good citizens of Joplin and hope all of you will be able to pull through this tragedy. Best of luck to you all.
I’ve sent in a donation on the link above and I have an appointment to give blood at my local Red Cross this afternoon. When something like this happens close to someone we all consider a friend, it makes you stop and think about how silly we all get over comics at times. Real life can be so much more frightening then anything we’ll ever read in a comic book. Like our hero Spider-Man we’d all jump right in to help if we could. While I can’t physically be there for Brad and the people of Joplin, I can donate to the Red Cross to help in their efforts. And I can give blood to help save lives here in my own neck of the woods. I don’t need to be bitten by a radioactive spider to have the power to help other people in a time of need. I encourage all Crawlspacers and even our friendly neighborhood editor to do the same.
Glad to hear you and your family are ok Brad. My prayers are with you and all of Joplin.
