I just had a nice chat with voice actor Josh Keaton. He played Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. He told me that he auditioned for Spider-Man in the upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon coming to Disney XD. He hasn’t heard back yet.
So Crawlspacers I have a request. Let’s e-mail the producers to tell them you want Josh Keaton as the voice of Spider-Man in the new show. Man of Action is producing the show and several Marvel folks are involved. So e-mail Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey and Steven T. Seagle.

I actually compared Josh to Kevin Conroy in the letter I sent. He really embodies Spider-Man to me, as much as Conroy embodies Batman.
this is a New spider-man that needs a new voice geting Keaton is like doing a Rboot and Then get the actor from the previous Movies
Enigma_2099: I believe Sony is making the movie, not Marvel. Marvel is making this show, though.
At the rate Marvel’s going with the movie, just tell Josh to tell them he’ll work for cheap.

I only brought him playing the voice of “Ultimate Spider-Man” in the game for reference, it seemed more appropriate to use only the same dimension

He definitely proved himself to be the best Spider-man on Shattered Dimensions. I LOL’d just about every time he spoke. Even my family enjoyed watching the game just because of his delivery.
He’s also been cast as Spidey in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, So I wouldn’t be surprised if he landed this one. He is definitely what Kevin Conroy is to Batman.
He will be perfect for the job
I have a good feeling he’ll get the part. I mean he was in the Spider-Man game (And, he played Amazing Spidey in the DS version) and he’s in the Marvel vs. Capcom.
That said, I’ve probably just jinxed him. ;_;
Quite frankly I would be shocked if he doesn’t get it. I think there is a chance that the producers would want a clean slate all together on the new show, but ultimately for ultimate Spider-Man, the best person for the job would be the most important thing. Of course they’d be foolish not to audition others, but at the end of the day you would think he has a leg up because he is a known quantity as the character. Either way, from what I’ve read about the show in hero’s realm, its going to be fantastic.
It seems they’re tending to do the opposite of what fans want. It would be so bad if he wasn’t chosen after this was posted.
Ugh, forgot to mention Ultimate Spider-Man Dimension and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Ugh
Proto-Yup, he voiced ultimate Spidey in the game. That Spidey was in the black suit.
Wasn’t it the ultimate deminsion spidey he voiced in that game too? One would think him voicing spidey on the ultimate cartoon would be a given after that. Hopefully it comes too pass.
